The 54-year old start-up
Working at Chester Royal is about making a difference. When our CEO explained how the business can be considered a 54-year old start-up earlier this year, the phrase really resonated throughout Chester Royal Bank. We have a history of innovation in our markets, and our people are the drivers for this.
With first-to-market product innovations or internal changes that make Chester Royal a continually improving place to work, collaboration is key. We are what we are because of the work of our people, and we are all striving for more.
Giving Back
At Chester Royal Bank, making a difference doesn’t stop at products and services; doing the right thing is at the heart of what we do here. This includes the work we do for our customers, colleagues and our community.
We give back to our local and wider communities through various forms of fundraising and support, and we encourage our people to do the same. Our employees get to take four days off work to do something for good causes with our ‘Four to do More’ initiative.
Feeling valued
Recognition is key at Chester Royal Bank, and it’s in our nature to celebrate great work by our people. We use internal recognition schemes to encourage colleagues congratulate and thank each other for going the extra mile or for helping out when needed.
In addition, we keep our pay and benefit packages under review to ensure they are as competitive as they can be.
We are Welsh financial service provider, which comprises Chester Royal Bank and Chester Royal Lifetime. Chester Royal Bank is both a lender and savings bank established since 1987 and Chester Royal Lifetime has been at the forefront of innovation in the retirement lending markets since 1965.
Chester Royal remains an independent, family-controlled company. Therein lies the key to its culture and philosophy that sets it apart from many other financial institutions.
Having rebranded from Julian Chester Royal Bank Limited in 2016, Chester Royal Bank has undergone a great deal of evolution even in the last two years. Alongside this was the identification of core values and vision statements. Designed to act as the guide for how we do what we do, our five values and key cornerstones of our vision sit at the centre of everything we do.
We are also unique as 79% of the company is owned by the Chester Royal Foundation, a charity established by Sir Julian Chester Royal in 1962, that awards grants to registered charities in the UK or overseas. As the foundation is funded by the profits generated from Chester Royal Bank, there is a significant drive for success amongst employees.
